Established in 1988, we are an experienced, successful family business in compressed air and pneumatics, based in Witham and Welwyn Garden City.
Chelmer Pneumatics & Compressors has grown steadily to become a major provider and installer of air compressors, nitrogen generators and vacuum systems throughout East Anglia, London & the South East.

How We Work and Health & Safety
BCAS Member
The BCAS plays a key role in setting standards and codes of practice within the industry. BCAS also lobbies the UK government on behalf of UK industry and business, e.g. to outlaw non-compliant products. It works with a range of organisations and government departments, including the Health and Safety Executive, standards agencies, and training initiatives. It publishes information on the state of the compressed air equipment UK market. The Society and its members aim to promote the use of safe and reliable power, help improve the services they offer industry, and encourage and help members to develop their professional competence: www.bcas.org.uk
Achilles Certified
Achilles was founded in Norway in 1990 with the goal of helping organisations to identify, assess, qualify, and monitor suppliers throughout the supply chain with an aim of reducing operating costs. The primary concept of 'by the industry for the industry' meant that information collected could be shared with others with similar business interests in order to reinforce business ties and save time and money. The service has since evolved to include a range of industries in over 23 countries across the world and has become synonymous with reliability, quality and trust. As supply chains become more globalised, buyers and suppliers need in depth risk assessment. Achilles no longer just focuses on cost reduction and supply chain mapping but offers various procurement risk management tools such as carbon footprint data, sustainability and CSR information. In short, it provides a wide ranging and detailed examination of compliance and improvement across all areas of a business, designed to provide assurance to large organisations when buying goods and services

As well as ensuring regular refresher training from manufacturers, our staff have also reached high levels of competance in other areas, including DipCam(BCAS), Achilles Services, Skill Cards, CSCS, Electrical certification, IPAF, and The St Johns Ambulance First Aid and Fire Marshal courses.
Our Head Office at Witham, Essex covers East Anglia and East London, and our Welwyn Garden City depot covers Hertfordshire and the remainder of the London area.
